They suffer because of developing love of a conventional nature in a world that refuses to understand the depth and sentiments. The story conveys how certain emotions refuse to die when treated recklessly and also the magic of the product of true love whether it is a person or an object. It describes the inevitable price one has to pay for not following ones heart.
